I would assume he must have done P Coy to be able to be attached to a parachute battalion for that long. The books I got this information from, Goose Green and The Last Eleven?, both by Mark Adkin, don't specifically mention it though. But Adkin does mention several other officers in 2 PARA who weren't originally Para Reg:

Maj Hugh Jenner, OC Support Coy, who came from the Cheshires after passing P Coy at age 36
Maj Phil Neame, OC D Coy, originally from the RAF Regt

He doesn't mention that Maj Chris Keeble, the 2IC, was originally commissioned into the Leicesters in 1963 and transferred to Para Reg in 1971.
It was [is?] common practice. Officer does a 2 - 3 yr secondment to Paras, from A.N. Other cap badge. Individuals do it for the experience, Para Regt encourages it to ensure it has sufficient numbers of Pl Comds.

Most go back to their parent Regt, or go out. Some stick around and re-badge Para. They include Gen Mike Jackson and others less-well-known: e.g. the team coach for my son's U18 rugby team (Canuck, ex-Gren Gds, re-badged 3 Para), and Lt Andy Bickerdike (seconded to Para from Queen's, re-badged to Para, and was Pl Comd to the late Sgt McKay VC - until Andy was shot through the leg as he crossed the Goose Green SL, and went down complaining "The bastards have shot me!!").

Pretty sure H Jones re-badged, and never served again with the D&D.

You could be onto something there, I heard they buried him after Goose Green.

I heard they wanted to do the same with you, somewhere on Hankley Common.

Not true. One just needs to be part of 16 AA Brigade.

Ummmmm... I would check that statement.

2 Para were at Goose Green, not 3 Para!
