Mars bar boys are alright, good bunch of guys. The sheepies are typical sheepies no one likes them As for the bog trotters, well they are not bad either has some great times with them in Chelsea and other places.

From another outsider's viewpoint looking at the Guards, the Coldstream's have been the best i've come across, with the Micks & Welsh bringing up the rear.

I did a tour with the jocks.

Blue red blue, 1642, living the dream.

I think that's their motto, it was scrawled on the bog door, next to 'the badge is a cunt'.

I think that's the reggie marching tune...

Based on your experience as a never served civvy?

As much as it pains me to say, the Paras are a good choice, I've been on courses and worked with lads from all 3 Para Bns and they are mostly good lads, once you get past the egos, and I'd rather have them watching my back than a lot of the Line Regiments. It is possible to serve with the Paras if you join the Guards as (at the moment) you can do P Company and if you pass you can be attached to 3 Para as part of the Guards Independent Parachute Platoon.

The Foot Guards and Paras also do alot of their courses together, things like JNCO cadres, sniper courses, pre senior and junior Brecon Courses as well as some various other courses the Jock regiment that is part of 16Bde also does these courses with us at Household Division Parachute Regiment Centralised Courses (HDPRCC) at Pirbright.

This means that whether you joined the Paras or one of the Foot Guards regiments you could go on you JNCO cadre and be in a sections with members of all 3 Para Bns, 5 Foot Guards regiments and some Jocks with a SNCO section commander from one of these regiments.
