Re: Check em lads
Just thought it was time I gave a heads up on where we are and what we have been up to!
I have been given an MBE for some strange reason, picked that up off HMQ on 7th May!
Getting an MBE has not managed to get me out of yet another boring TELIC as I write this from Basrah!
checkemlads has become a registered charity at last!!!
keep you updated on more when it happens guys!
Keep the word out there, get lads checking!as Ali G once said... check yaself before ya wreck yaself

Re: Check em lads
well done on the MBE, obviousley well deserved, good to see someone doing a worth while life saving thing gets honoured rather than someone who gets a gong for scoring a goal from a free kick against Greece getting one.
From my personel view, its not just cancer that can be picked up from having a feel. I had some pain and tenderness, noticed several lumps in my right spud, had an ultra sound scan and parts of my knacker had calcified (possibly from a knock during sport at sometime), doctor said he could operate to remove them but that could possibly increase a risk of it retracting back inside my body (increasing the risk of cancer!) if 'nudged' due to the size being reduced.
In the end I had it removed for my own comfort and piece of mind.

Re: Check em lads
Do they sew in a pingpong ball, or an olive.....you know.....something to address the balance in the sack?
I tried to go on your site, but it doesn't work on MoD systems here. Probably a flash issue?

Re: Check em lads
Hi Mick
Just thought I'd let you know that your message is getting out there and to teenagers too.
My Staurday lad wants to run the Great South Run with me (if we can get places) but didn't know what to raise money for. My Saturday girl came up with testicular cancer. They are both 16.
I have to admit I was suprised that she knew about that form of cancer.
I keep teasing him that his T shirt will read "I'm running for my balls", strangley he's not too keen on the idea of the slogan!

Re: Check em lads
The surgeon asked me if I wanted a 'replacement', but it would involve a second operation at a later date (should have said yes, more time off work!), I said no and he said that married blokes usually say no as they are comfortable with themselves but its usually the singlies and gaymen who say yes due to the possible percieved 'shock and horror' reaction of the new partner discovering that they are a womble.

I already have moved from Ops, the view wasnt too good and the sun shone on my computer screen so I had them move the building!
Its great that the word is getting out there guys! ARRSE has a lot to do with it, I went to a smoking cessation clinic the other day and the RAF nurse recognised me from these forums... I am giving a bollock talk there soon!
As for the problems getting onto the site, you cant get onto it as you said cuz of a flash problem from military nets. you can get on from Paradigm if you are away, also you can get onto the forums feed which is www.testicularcancer.org.uk That is where we do most of our work!!!
Keep it real ARRSErs,
