One of our elderly folks has just had her Virgin analogue TV chopped. She's got a decent newish donated WiFi PC, plus a landline and BT wireless Broadband at home.
No roof aerials in her social housing, apparently 'twas a deal between the RSL and the TV company. No Sat dish nor any other means of getting a TV signal, unless she pays for it.
The TV company have of course now changed to digital, but she has no Digibox, and fears she may now have to pay. Apparently she'll be charged even for the "privilige" of receiving digital Freeview.
We reckon she could use her BT BB and PC, to watch loads of online digital channels on her analogue set, without having to stump up more money. Plus, she can also use the big telly as a monitor (better for her poor eyesight).
How are we going to do this?
Use a PC to TV Wireless Video Sender, no cables?
Wire the PC into the telly through the VGA and audio outputs?
Feed the signal into her DVD recorder , wireless or wired?
She reckons she can spend fifty quid, one off.
Wonder if anyone would be good enough to help? Many thanks

I picked up a Trojan.
Highjacked everything to try to get me to buy some antivirus!
I have AVGantivirus and also have Adaware, spybot & Malwarebytes.
I use FF 3.6 but also have IE8, Opera & Safari.
The Trojan highjacked everything except Opera.
Eventually I managed to get into my programmes & got rid of what I thought was everything.
However, now, instead of redirecting my browers to their sales site it just says not internet connection.
All except for Opera.
I've now downloaded Chrome to see if that would work but no.
So anyone any idea why only Opera will work?
I've checked my firewall & setting are fine.
I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.
I can see it now, in a decade ARRSE will be full of young thrusters who will be complaining about all the old farts who go on about HERRICK, lurk in the office, "enable" stuff and how it's got fuck all to do with what's going on now.

did it try to get you to buy a piece of software called 'antivir pro'?
if so, yes, it's a right little fcuker and the twonk who wrote it deserves their skin slowly peeling off with a carpet knife.
however, there are programs online that you can download and it will kill it - if you still have Opera then have a search and dwonload it, then get Avast as MSR suggests. I was running AVG and it blasted straight past it.
is madly in love with the Slug and doesnt care who knows it. from the moment she first got me in a headlock and took my lunch money off me, I knew she was the only girl for me.
