OK sweet cheeks, get your coat.

Whatever you get buy it via Quidco.com. You'll get 8% cashback on a Dell or 6% on a HP and 3% on Apple

Dell will do exactly what you want at a reasonable price. HP Elitebooks are nice and more robust but pricey

Have an Acer Aspire One D255 notebook which is brilliant & on the basis of this purchased a Acer Aspire 5750G laptop, both the dogs dangly bits.

Both though are budget & you need to purchase Word on top of the price of the machine, the notebook also only came with Windows 7 Basic, although they gave me a free upgrade to Home Premium.

Tough is good, portable is very good.
Most consumer laptops are desktop replacements, not portable computers.

Look at business laptops that means Thinkpad not Ideapad for Lenovo.

A worldwide next working day on-site warranty usually indicates it's business grade.

Size: 57.1 KB. Here is a copy of my receipt for the mac book and extended apple warranty (worth it's weight in gold get it!) hope this helps mate. All I had was my student ID and number along with both my MOD 90 and my paramedic HPC card, I told them I was going to afghan and had heard about both discounts being given to a bloke in my unit (bollocks) then said if I can get the same deal right then I would buy the laptop and the warranty, he went away spoke to his boss and came back and said his boss had agreed so I got it and that was from apple in the metro centre. If the pic didn't go through properly let me know and I will try sending it via a pm. Kindles are awesome for tour if you don't have a iPad get a Kindle £89 very well spent.

Why ever not? Same spec, same guarantee and you aren't paying Currys prices. No risk. I would not buy any other way.

Quidco is a conduit to the retailer sites. This way you buy direct from the manufacturer under whatever their best latest offer is but get cashback too
