Most probably, but one thing's for certain, it put the shits up them massively. Most of them fucked off out of the area for quite some time.
There is only one principle of war and that's this. Hit the other fellow, as quickly as you can, as hard as you can, where it hurts him most, when he ain't lookin.

As I was out there at the time and spoke to people in the regiment in question, I think I have more of an insight than you, unless you want to say otherwise?

Its amazing how both you and Proper_gander go into a sulk when asked for proof of anything isnt it? Its also amazing how you pair of bellends bring up either Nazis/racist/BNP/EDL into every thread where you both are made to look like cunts.

May be this was his the only way of ID'ing the guy in the eyes of said Gurkha.

I felt the reaction of the MOD at the time was excessive and I can't help but feel that he is being made the scapegoat when indeed I don't know why it is so important that dead Talibs are not disfigured. Are there talks underway that could be harmed because of this? I just did not understand what the big deal was, hence my question, so does anyone fecking know or what?
Do you think Ghurka are all little thickos who "no speaka Inglish" or that they are that stupid they don't know about the rules the GC set? I'm fairly certain that the bloke in question is a private either.
There are more than a few DNA kits/cameras out in theatre for the infantry to use, and they are taught how to use them, The ghurkas arent told to sit in a corner while the white man does all the training.
What do you think the locals think if they see a dead body with its head removed by a British soldier, or what the ANA might think if they were attached to that unit?

I have searched and searched, and I cannot find any reference to the Taliban being a signatory of the Geneva Convention. And it's not like they're back to collecting ears for bounty. mind that would help their pensions out a bit
I'm not a complete idiot.....Some bits are missing

Why not get a room the three of you? Just to put this in perspective, you are the one stating that the press has gotten this wrong and somehow you seem to possess privileged access to what really happened but conveniently are barred (I bet) from giving us mere mortals any more details. Hilarious really that you should be slagging off others for not coming up with proof, are you comedian or just a prick?

Where did I say Im barred? as I said when this happend, I just didnt want to say anything before the CM, I was in Afghanistan at the at the time, I was working with an officer who was attached to the Ghurkas, my loggie unit had ex Ghurkas in it. I think that puts me ever so slightly more in the know than you who read an outrage story in the Mail, as has been pointed out the rest of the media didnt exactly jump up and down I wonder why?
If I remember correctly the Mail was full of what "they" thought rather than what the MOD said, including some bollocks about insulting Muslims, yeah right cos cutting the heads of dead bodies is acceptable in all other part of the world
Read post 20, its seems someone else knows that the Daily Mail was talking out of it arse.

The enemy don't have to sign up to the GC, but we have to obey its rules regardless.
