What a trip down memory lane from Fugly.Dortmund Centrum what a city!!Monopole madness and being shit scared when i drank in the Masterpiece Bar next door(Crazy Biker Bar) Venkers.black sheep,Leeds and Inside bar, louisianas, atlanticos bar,and not to mention the mighty Soundgarden.Bloody great memories from Germany. Sadly no more :( I do remember the doorman / Brickprivvy being shot, was in the Inside bar the night after it happened, he was still there guarding the door!Nails.Drink til dawn they cleaned up around you, then down the alley to get a hot breakfast baguette, then fall asleep on the tram back to Aplerbeck, and wake up in Unna Massen.Heaven!

Only stayed in Napier one weekend after a Whirlygig ex. What an eye opener that was for a 17 year old the strasse and kinky corner is burned forever in my memory
Joining 16 AD in '86 i got all the stories from their time there but was wondering about 2 in particular. Did 16 get kicked out of dortmund? and did the rasman once get the singlies out on parade and cart them off downtown to sort out another rgt??

hello commando gunner, 16 did get kicked out of Dortmund around 85 i think this was due to lots of things but a im sure youve heard all the stories so i wont bore you!! mainly though i think it was due to a Brummie kid who nicked a petrol tanker and crashed it into a taxi rank in Dortmund centre killing a few locals.
with regards to the Rasman sending the single lads down town to sort another regt out I think this is myth I was in Dortmund between 81 and 84 (the wild days) and I was in with the crowd that took on 26 regt and i dont remember this incident actually happening.I can only think that the other regt would have been 26 because we shared a camp with them and hated each other!! funnily enough the main 30 battery thugs were called the Hansa Commandos after the boozer we drank in called the hansa becher. by the way selection was a lot harder to become a hansa commando than it was to get in 29 cdo it mostly involved drinking the worst beer in Germany for months on end singing "flower of Sscotland" at every opportunity even though you were Eenglish and brawling with anything that moved.
fetch back any memories for anyone?

Shit, that would've been good for a laugh, lot of ex-16 lads settled in the area.

good do mate, saw some old faces who you would have known, some havent changed much and some have had a hard life!!! when i was stood by the bar if i shut my eyes it took me back twenty odd years then when i opened them again i realised we probably were not the "elite fighting force" we once were.

Age does terrible things to people. Should've invited a few of the old scunny slappers up just to add to the atmosphere
    Don't suppose anyone took photos?
