Re: JLRRA. Â*
I've been neglecting the Gunner site as obviously noted by the Webster Twins.
I had forgotten how grumpy they can get. I am so sorry that you cheerful chaps are obviously really upset that there is a Gunner out there that thinks that 7 RHA is an animal that should have been strangled at birth and that also thinks that the RHA system is one of the major faults in the Royal Regiment. The Pacesetters have far too high an opinion of themselves and the Benefitters actually seem to think that they are pacesetters.
If you are so very fired up on being airborne why don't you go the whole hog and join the Parachute Regiment rather than posing on the sidelines as part Gunner part Para.
Personally the thought of all that rushing about and getting muddy made me very giddy and I had to reach for my comfy landrover.
I still think that Juniors was an excellent start for some and perhaps not so good for others.

Re: JLRRA. Â*
Milne Tp 89 July intake.
refused adamantly once in unit to do any cadre courses since that was what training was about.
Some ppl cannot seem to handle the fact that most ex Juniors do leave the Army shortly afterwards because the rest of the Army does not meet up to the standards that were set in training. Delusioned is the word I am looking for,
I Still think that the full potential of a Junior Leader Regiment will only ever be realised when the Regular Army and it's 'Regular' Soldiers accept what these young men are trained to do. Thinking on their feet effectively only made other Regs bitter about them.

Re: JLRRA. Â*
The standards of the Army cannot be completely conveyed fully in every detail in training, i believe my education in military affairs began AFTER i left JLRRA and joined my unit in Germany, after all i am still here within the fold of the Royal Regiment.

Re: JLRRA. Â*
RRK. This seems rather a bizarre statement to me as when I passed out of JLRRA there were 229 on parade so with Oct Intake thats roughly 400 or so Juniors that went out to adult regts every year. Probably at least a third of the yearly Intake for the Regs, so how could THE REGULAR Army not accept what you went through as a lot of them went through first.

Re: JLRRA. Â*
Is RRK for real? Can there really be such ghastly specimins wandering about our beloved Royal Regiment?
I was a Junior Infanteer, not JLRRA, but I worked with loads of ex JLRRA types when I transferred over to the Gunners. They were all good lads, well respected, hard working and worth their weight in gold. The only time I ever saw a total chopper was an ex Junior Sergeant throwing his weight around on his second day in NI - I believe it took him several days to get over the 'response'. :D
He didn't last long - I believe he left to become 'delusioned'. We were all certainly disillusioned by him. :D
