Anyone had a problem with Skyrim freezing or running slowly on the PS3? I've been toying with the idea of getting in the sales but a mate has been having problems playing, he puts it down to his older PS3 not having power to play it, has anyone experienced it, or is it as I suspect that his PS3 is just on the way out?

it appears bethesda resleased a patch 3 days ago and are expected ot release more in the coming days for ps3 to "fix freezing errors"

anectodally its not affecting all ps3's just certain models and it could be indicative of a bigger problem, i'll ask my lil bro after xmass no doubt he'll want me to fix his machine again he suffers terribly from grubby fingers and requires his lens cleaning quite regularly

I've got an ancient Xbox 360 that got the RROD and was refitted by Microsoft about 2 years ago. No problems here ....

So, similar problems faced by people attempting to play Fallout 3 or New Vegas then?

yeah although a fair few of those were down to the systems needing to be taken into maintenance mode nad choosing option 3 (ps3 only) to detect and repair corrupted files, or alternativly due to excessive heat, i dont get why console games are so hard ot get right tbh, pc games sure its down to the massive ammounts of different hardware in the boxes people use but consoles are generally a fixed entity and well known by developers so theres no excuses for there code not being correctly setup for them.

well i guess its down to them porting things from one platform ot another and being sloppy in the most part on cleaning up errant code but still with the cost of thease games they should work out of the box not as they do in some cases effectivly brick a perfectly working console.
