Let us assume jarrod gets a loan of 25k for a car. And drives up to the bookies, hands over the log book and sticks 25k on the nose of some horse in the 3.45 at Cheltenham.

You might find that a 25k personal loan plus a 75k mortgage on repayment, are far in excess of your monthly rental payment, and the interest on the personal loan is also going to be pretty high. What's wrong with saving up for a >5% deposit?
