Over the past two weeks I have had telephone calls from an organisation in New York , whose name I can never quite catch , offering to buy my shares in BT .

I know that the names of shareholders can easily be obtained … I suspect everyone now and when I receive a telephone call I never identify myself when answering but ask who is calling and give only minimal info away during the course of any subsequent conversation .

I have been targeted before by Boiler Room Scammers and they can come across as plausible and be persistent

I have done a couple of checks on the Internet and there appears to be at least one organisation Winchester Consultancy Group based in New York involved in a scam offering highly inflated prices .
