Best War Movie?
For me it is Saving Private Ryan. Changed the way I looked at War as a civvy, and even now as a Soldier. I did a battlefield tour last year to Belgium for the WWI sites and a parade at Menin Gate, in Ypres.
Very...very moving.Shit off, mate. Don't be as solid as the hammer you hit yourself with. Please? Cheers.

The world is round, which ever way you go you will get there in the end.......unless you go by tank.

Re: Best war movies
yeah sure, you have all mostly stated the obvious, BUT check out
'THE YOUNG LIONS' , MADE NOT TOO LONG AFTER WW11, and apparently banned from showing in UK for a time as content too graphic / realistic for domestic consumption.
black and white, and subtitles too, but well worth a watch.

Re: Best war movies
I am outraged that the word "movie" is used in the title as opposed to film.

Re: Best war movies
i must say Cross Of Iron is really fantastic
probably the most accurate film you'll see on world war 2your mum is so dumb she got fired from the M&M's factory for throwing away all the W's
3 men in a tent
the one on the left says
'i dreamt i was tossed off last night'
the one on the right said
'yeah i also dreamt i got tossed off last night'
then the man in the middle said
'thats wierd, i dreamt i was skiing'

Re: Best war movies
Film4 show it regularly. Can anyone remember Boys from company C, a nam flick, I enjoyed it, worst film has to be Wheels of Terror, author the great Sven Hassel, The film destroyed any picture I ever had of 30 years of reading his books
