Remember watching it during a blizzard, MPA 1990.

Quality film, I love the bit where the chopsy REMF NCO nearly gets his head removed and of coarse the range bit.

Talking of squaddie friendly films, anyone know where I can get a copy of a film i think was called Contact? It was a tv film about a COP in Norn Iron, nothing much happens and they spend most of their time cold and wet in the dark or cold and drying off in sangers.

Or did I just imagine it cos its been that long since I watched it?

No it was a good retort, fancy having your small unit tactics pulled apart by a barman who did militia service 20 years before whilst his mates drone on about politics? No definetly feck him off!

Was that the film where they had an officer stood under a street light on a dark night shouting "bad soldiers make good targets" with two squaddies on the other side of the road sniggering?

Back on track, I am going to stop by tesco's tonight as this the Odd Angry Shot, is one of my favourite all time films, with little gems like the thieving Orang-u-tang in the large tree.

I think that's the one. I think an ex Tom wrote it but it was defo Alan Clarke that directed it.

The only film I know called 'Contact' was about a Para Sect on various Patrols in
Bandit Country, hardly any dialog but bloody good all the same.

Without a doubt the finest war film ever; and the finest use of a wanking device in modern cinema.

Thats the one mate. The scenes where they are patrolling in complete silence rather than mincing about showing each other photos, gabbing away and smoking like in Hollywood films was really good to see.
