This has been used in loads of films and ironically was written by a bloke who died before films had soundtracks.

Sinnerman, performed by Nina Simone, has been heard in several films and TV programmes in the last ten years or so, as well as a TV commercial. Films include the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, Cellular (with Kim Basinger and Jason Statham), and the recent Miami Vice.

The big dramatic scene in The Kings Speech is accompanied by the second movement of Beethoven's 7th symphony. This music also appears in the final sequence of The Knowing, as the Earth is consumed in fire, and in the opening sequence of the previously mentioned The Fall, which is the one shown here.

Lost in Translation. It's a brilliant film and the soundtrack is perfect. Judges award goes to Sebastian Tellier, Fantino, for the slightly unearthy and disconnected feel that suits the whole culture-shock motif of the film perfectly.
We need people who look to the stars, holding the nation and the world in their hearts but at the same time we need down-to-earth people who can do serious and trying work.
In a definite sense, a country's power and prestige isn't only a reflection of its economic power but also a reflection of its people's quality and morality. Moreover, I think the latter is actually more important in the long-term.

I still think that Lawrence of Arabia has the best theme/soundtrack, IMO:
And that it used "Voice of the Guns" too:
