You cnut (sorry, no offence) - I'm just incredibly jealous and can't help it.

All in all, a really versatile little set-up, great for gigging. 80's models don't seem to hold any prestige but I have to say it's absolutely great. I wouldn't mind upgrading my Marshall to a pure valve model and adding a decent Ibanez, an american Strat and a PRS to my collection. Wife doesn't like me spending money (she doesn't recognise the beauty of rock).

Yes, funny you say that, I prefer the sound of my cheapo Martin to just about anything at that price but I loved the necks on all the Gibsons that I've spent any time with (my LP, a couple of different songmakers).

Re: A Guitar owner’s thread
There's something about Gibson necks, that typical '59 shape (not the early '60's thin neck period)..........you can really "lean into" them, particularly Les Paul's.
Love the early Gibson semi-solid necks too.........made for speed and feel.

Re: A Guitar owner’s thread
Unfortunately in my condition Gibsons are to heavy therefore a no no, regarding vintage guitars, about five years ago I was the proud owner of a Burns Flyte made I think about the mid 70's, I let it go and really wished I hadn't now, still, I would only have kept it in a case and never played it... Sigh.

I've just bought a Yamaha Bass. I'm going down the route of taking lessons. Wouldnt it be great to have a H4H "ArrseAid" next year?

I have a late life crisis fellas. Too late for a mid-life crisis really
After watching blokes like Moore, Aldrich, and their ilk, after 20 odd years farting about I'd invest in a Gibson, not a Les Paul Custom as I can't afford that and it'd be wasted on me. In me fifth decade having grown up with rock.
Too late to start?

Fine. A lesson a week, for say, two years...worth it I'll grant you that, can just see meself on stage at the Evergreen Venue bvy the time I can string a coherent riff together, and the missus taking the urine. So what's new? :P
