The last few films I have watched -

Legion... pretty standard stuff ok not great ....

The Fourth Kind - This was a strange sort of film with alleged "real" film shown side by side with the actors acting out the scenes... about Alien Abduction.... not bad though be prepared to jump....

Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton) - I thought I was going to loath this but I didnt ... its a far cry from the insipid Disney version, could be a bit too scary for very tiny offspring (decapitated heads floating in the moat might cause upset)... very enjoyable....

Watchmen - full length movie based on the graphic novel (comic book!). It made me laugh, SFX were OK and there was even a nipple or two.
I love the girls who say they will; I like the girls who don't.
I hate the girls who say they will and then say that they won't.
But the girls I like the best of all, I may be wrong or right,
Are the ones who say they never will -- but look as though they might!

Up in the Air - George Clooney and a bint travel the USA firing people, not a classic film by any stretch but entertaining for an Hour and a half.

In reference to Legs post what is so difficult about subtitles to put a black border around the letters like it used to be. These days it's all white letters that get lost in anything on screen that's two shades off black.

Watched District 9 on Sky Box Office with number one son, who came home for Mothers Day.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this film and we were both engrossed from the start. I thought the the lead actor was excellent, despite him increasingly suffering from tourettes!
Totally different to anything else I have seen and I look forward to the obvious sequel.

Bought a cheap copy of Guy Richie's - 'Rock'N Roller' on the basis that it could be mag to grided in the likely event. Formulaic Richie, loads of geezars with sub plots that eventually join up. Entertaining in a brain in neutral sort of manner, with a plot ending set up for an eventual sequel.

I also watched Ritchie's ' Revolver' on tv. Jeez, what's that all about? It's a slick, nicely filmed few hours, however, I felt that I'd been incarcerated in the Tate Modern with R&R in Gitmo.

    J-D,
Each to their own, I suppose. Funny enough our daughters boyfriend also gave up on it, but he only lasted 10 minutes!
Personally, I thought it was completely different to what I was expecting and all the better for it.

Zombieland - fairly amusing zombie flick, with a couple of bits where I did laugh out loud.

Just seen this, quite funny, Woody Harrelson's character cracked me up and a token cameo by Bill Murray too

Gamer. Man in real life game, controlled as if an actual game character. Blood, shooting, death, more than its fair share of t*ts..............utter, utter shite. Had more fun watching my own stool disappear round the u-bend.

The Hurt Locker. 'One of the best wars films ever' it confidently said on the box. 'Follow a mans journey through combat into dispair'. I did, it was me.

The Proposal. All the ingredients of a dispicable seething boil of a film. Woman persuades man to marry her to stay in the country. Problems, arguements, love, romance, humour. Couldn't get much worse, and I actually liked it.

    So to summarise.

2 films that should have been good and I should have enjoyed.........crap.

1 film that should have been as repellent as garlic to a vampire........good.
