Is the Scots Gaurds officer, the same guy from the Tumbledown film?
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just f---off and leave me alone.

For gold the merchant ploughs the main,
The farmer ploughs the manor;
But glory is the sodger's prize,
The sodger's wealth is honor:
The brave poor sodger ne'er despise,
Nor count him as a stranger;
Remember he's his country's stay,
In day and hour of danger.

That was a surprisingly candid and balanced approach from the BBC, I was expecting shock horror all soldiers are baby killers.
A few years ago an American General said some similar things and the luvvies were in uproar that combat could be such a buzz. Theres a thread around somewhere on here about it.
Yes thats the Lawrence from the Tumbledown film."Remember that you are an Englishman, and have consequently won first prize in the lottery of life".
