windows 8 refresh problems

windows 8 does have a few bugs which crop up that can usually be fixed with a batch file or regedit but one of my machines crashes every time it resumes from standby - a common fault going by the internet.

so I figured I'd try a refresh - which whether done from the dvd or the desktop fails on 95%

I can reset it which wipes the lot and also removes media centre but that's not what I'm after. I macriumed the drive to restore it if stuff doesn't work or to go back after experimenting with it.

currently using linix to clone files off a live copy back into the windows partition to restore apps and programs similar to the windows.old trick.

the aim is to get it right then set up a custom refresh file for an easy restore in future.

any ideas gratefully received or should I wait a couple of months and see what the 8.1 blue update might do?

MY E mail accounts have died on my desktop and my laptop.

the lap top has been in a cupboard for three weeks not used .

I cannot get my pop 3 to accept my account password at all. I have deleted the account and started from scratch and it still does not like my username / password. ( which i have written down from the last time this happened Aug 2012 ,)

I have screen dumps of the account setup from when it last worked Aug 2012 and have copies all the boxes as per .

I have deleted and created four other accounts using different passwords to no avail.
Scanned for Virus and mal-aware found two mal-awares and they have been killed.

my internet connection is working ok , the outgoing mail seems to be connecting on the test but cannot open the incoming mail. So what do you think is the problem please ?

oh I cleared off the last couple of programmes I downloaded before the crash , including updates of Java which in the past conflicted with Firefox . what ferk is Java Juke box when it is at home ??

Cheers troops , I am off for a nervous breakdown until tomorrow .

Hi can anyone offer some advice to rectify a problem I have with Internet Explorer. The problem is on trying to open IE I get the following dialogue boxes.

Internet Explorer has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the programme and notify you if a solution is found.
I am using both Firefox and Google Chrome until I can resolve the problem and I am not having any problems with them.
