And now tom with the weather......
Haven't had an accident in years. See a lot in my rear view mirror though.
It's very unlucky to be superstitious.

MrsDriver and me used to enjoy many jaunts to Belgium, especially to Brussels and along the coast. We stopped going about three years ago when the exchange rate went haywire. Now think of Greece and Spain that rely on British tourists who are staying away in droves, it's cheaper to go to Florida. They should dump the euro, go back to Drachma and Pesata, devalue and stand by for the rush as they become affordable again.

iirc on radio 4 today last week, there was talk of the big 4 debt nations getting together to stand up to the cash cows and welsh on the repayments,as we're all europeaners in the same boat and the cash cows MUST pay up and help out.
if your anywhere near stratford on avon that rumbling noise will be enoch turning in his grave.

The question for the UK is whether it can weather the coming storm when about 40% of the country are unproductive wasters who believe that the state owes them a living. There's also a concern about what the aperatchiks in Brussels might do to try to keep the gravy train on the rails. I think the time has come to cut the PIIGS loose and completely reoraganize and refocus the EU, if not get rid of it altogether. Possible time for the Northern European economies, ex-France, to go it alone.

So did most other people, however I believe that epitome of financial genius "Brown" was in favour of it, which in my & every other SANE person means that the Euro is a load of shite! Straw man, Cameron has reneged on his promise of a referendum on the EU, which means the corrupt unaccounrable sods can keep sponging more & more cash off us!
I think that more shit is on the way as most of the left wing mongs, not just in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland but here as well, think that money grows on trees, or at least can be produced ad infinitum on printing presses, not having the brain power to realise that state money has to be earnt & paid for by business & tax payers

Forgive my ignorance in these matters but what happens if Greece doesn't pay? It's not like they can get repossessed is it?

The Seagull, You are not being ignorant at all. I have read lots on this in the last few months and I am not sure anyone actually knows what might happen, including many eminent economists. It will be painful, thats all we can say, the Greek right wing may gain strength, and Turkey might man the borders a bit more.

Yes indeed - Brooon - the gift that keeps giving

Gold will continue to be expensive as long as the current shower of Eurocrats (and our lot too) print money.
Farm land - I'm looking at agricultural land east of the Vistula at the moment as the demand for food will push it's value up further. I'm only mindful of the fact that should the geopolitcal situation change Farmboy's Eastern Framski may well end up as a harbour area for the third shock army.....however they will need feeding too
It's all good!!
