warm said plastic hook over open flame.
as said hook is near melting point, press firmly against window frame.
    thermo compression welding,
for greater results, and less chance of failure, a liberal use of super glue around mating edge should suffice.
a nail will ensure lack of adhesion should not take place..

If those instructions are carried out carefully and with a bit of engineering nous, then surely the results will be flawless, by the sound of it.

can we please revert back to practical solutions on how to avert the problem of not being able to affix hooks.

Any brand of curtain hook will do. As mentioned in an earlier post, the key is good preparation.

Use a solvent cleaner to remove any grease from the frame - test in an inconspicuous location to check that it doesn't damage the plastic.

Remove the adhesive pad from the hook and sand down to the plastic. Wash in water and thoroughly dry with a hair drier.

    Superglue hook to frame.

It's the only way that I've been able to get them to stick for more than a few days.

"Hurrah for the Works Group" just doesn't have the same ring...

"A volunteer is worth ten pressed men."
So, a TA battalion or nine Regular Guards battalions? Not a difficult choice, then (especially as we don't have nine Regular Guards battalions).

I am a number. I am not a free man.
