Discuss Bombay rocked by deadly shootings 172 killed in Current Affairs, News and Analysis on The Army Rumour Service; So why does the BBC still refer to Myanmar as Burma??
It's Bombay and Delhi. It's not called Chicken Chennai or a Chennai Curry is it , it's Madras. Have Pakistan place names changed since ...
He had bought a large map representing the sea,
Without the least vestige of land:
And the crew were much pleased when they found it to be
A map they could all understand.
The Deccan Mujahadeen (sounds like a bunch of Hindus ) are now claiming responsibility. That's very big and clever of them. Clearly AFG's getting a bit hot for these vermin.
Mujahadeen aint those Islamic holy warriors nothing to do with Hindus. This attack is similar to one 3 years in North Ossetia, when chechen rebels stormed a town.
If this in any way is linked to pakistan or pakistani intelligence, India will rightfully (in my opinion) strike back at pakistan.

The day before Thanksgiving - coincidence?
Werewolf may have a point. Islamic terrorists seem to like significant dates and having the news on this reach the US on a day when most Americans are in front of the TV, resting up after overdosing on turkey, dressing and mince pie might increase the impact on my side of the pond. Of course most of the TV's will be set to channels with (American) football but if Mum grabs the clicker people will see the news.
Apparently the senior Indian police officials lead from the front as the news here says 3 senior police officials are among the dead.
Given that the terrorists are armed with automatic weapons and RPG's it might be time to use troops instead of police.
If someone on the forum has knowledge of the capabilities of the Indian police please enlighten the rest of us.

So why does the BBC still refer to Myanmar as Burma??
Beacuse the renaming of Burma as Myanmar was done by the rather nasy Military Junta, not the properly elected government (as she's still under house arrest). The BBC thus does not recognise name change, also the BBC and other media around the World knows that not using Myanmar really winds up the largely English speaking ruling 'elite' in Burma (only to be known as Myanmar when properly anti colonial democrats are rulling the gaff not anti colonial Nazis). As this 'elite' are by and large scum of the highest order, I think I am with the BBC on this one.
Oh and rumours say that the ISI had a hand in the Indian terror attacks as the New Pakistani Government has been trying to broker a serious Indian/Pak peace and normailisation deal. Part of which was the closure of a major chunk of ISI.
'There is much to learn from the British: their reticence about disclosing details, their clear expertise in human intelligence, their non-hysterical reaction to very real threats. Many Americans may have an inferiority complex about things British -- the refinement, the style and, of course, those accents' -
Coordinated attacks on Taj Mahal hotel, Oberoi hotel and main railway stn where the fearless mujahidin fighters opened fire with AK47s on crowds of innocent civvies packing the station during rush hour
Hotel attackers sought out Brits and Americans to take hostage
Taj Mahal hotel is on fire and hostages are being held inside. Hostages also in the Oberoi.
Hostages reported to be unconcerned about whether the city is called Bombay or Mumbai.
If they should once obtain a connivance, they will press for a toleration, from thence to an equality, from an equality to a superiority, from a superiority to an extirpation of all contrary religions. John Pym 1584-1643.
I reserve the right to say what the fcuk I like. The serried ranks of headstones in Flanders, Normandy and elsewhere give me that right.
