Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
what a total waste of public money - he is a total cnut and is obviously jealous that the Corporal is not giving him attention but sure after this someone will be giving him a very personel view of events. Fecking idiot TV is making me use the grey button and hearing the click as it goes off.
you only live once ...make sure you enjoy it!! If you don't enjoy it sit in the corner and shut the Feck up!

"i saw..."
"he said..."
" apparently..."
This is utter nonsense, typical British Board of Communists trying to demoralise the Army and its chances of recuitment.

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
I was prepared to keep an open mind. After all there could have been some serious point. All I've seen up to now is perfectly reasonable and dare I say it, a bit soft training.
I known I'll be fuming about this for days possibly as much as when I seen the programme on Lympstone including the instructer showing recruits on how to put your quilt in its quilt cover tidily.
FUCKING QUILT !!

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
I've had to turn it off.
I'm not getting on the outrage bus but this could do a massive amount of damage unless people see it for what it is. Shit stirring.
In this fucking mollycoddled world we live in, it is fucking necessary to shout, discipline, beast and welcome these young lads to reality. If you do not do as you are trained, you will die. How are you trained for the reality of being shot at? Very hard!

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
At the moment, I'm wishing I was on this course when I did any of my courses that entailed a form of discipline or being messed around. It sounds positively below average.
If you mess up with weapon handling, you deserve a slap. Even one of the lads who'd had a bit of a a pasting said "I deserved it".
Nasty instructors doing quick change parades and physical beastings. About the only thing out of the ordinary so far is the alleged urination on the recruit.
The rest of it seems to be lads letting off steam about their corporals, as proved by the differing stories about each incident.
Journalistic rubbish. I'd get the bloke to soldier on. He swore the oath.
As an aside, he said this.
"I look like a soldier, and now I'm thinking like one"
The training works then, doesn't it. We're training people to go to war, not be redcoats at Butlins.

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
He's filming shit in the block chatting wit lds, making the whole thing out of nothin - talk about mountain out of a mole hill!
Half the guys in the platoon sound the sort who aint gonna see it out anyways - when i joined my plt was full of gobshite bigtimers moaning about it all - their the twats who need a slap so they fuck off leaving the disciplined well trained guys to pass out and do the job.
I not sure if all that mkes sense just need a bit of a rant!

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
It really does smack of desperation on the 'investigative Beebs' part.
I think we can all agree that bullying is not acceptable in todays Army but this clown seems to be misunderstanding military discipline, young lads exaggerating some of their treatment and the harsh reality of what military training is meant to be with what he perceives bullying to be.
Certainly don’t need this kind of undercover work unless it of course exposes real cases of bullying.
The bit I've just watched is where the undercover clown is questioning some recruit and his answers are he feels unloved and is losing his confidence at being told off all the time. Call me old fashioned but training is not only for teaching but also for filtering the dross out who are not suitable for service closing with and killing the enemy using true grit, guts and strength of character.
Another little gem this fuckwit seems to misunderstand; He quotes the amount of soldiers who have been killed on live firing exercises then in the next ditty, criticises blokes getting robustly chastised for fucking up on the range.
A lot of what this program seems to be putting across is not bullying per say but the culture shock of the reporter (psychology grad) being in this environment.I hate humans. I wind people up, it's what I do.

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
This also seems to demonstrate that the system works, in that some of the Corporals doing these alleged activities are being investigated.

Yes big time agree with tht one! He is just moaning about bullshit. He needs some proper beastings to really give him something to moan about... 'adopt the position, arms out infront of you!' ' reference tree - weapons above your head. stndby - go!!'

Re: The Undercover Soldier - BBC1
The guys speaking to him candidly are clearly informed by him that he's running an investigation.
