CommentA small force of Scottish soldiers who were saying their goodbyes to family and friends in the UK just four weeks ago have played a pivotal role in the latest offensive in Afghanistan, aimed at limiting the ability of the Taliban to funnel weapons and fighters into Helmand province.
The 120 men of "Charlie" Company, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, provided the covering firepower and operational springboard to allow hundreds of US Marines to cross the Helmand river and penetrate the desert and scrub which has been exclusively "bandit country" since 2001. http://www.theherald.co.uk/news/othe...st_Taliban.php
We as Scots have a national pride and we show pride of the men and women of scotland that serve within the British Forces.
We fly our flag with pride and the people of Scotland show this by supporting our troops. They dont get spat on or insulted on our streets.
Whenever an English Unit does something, then it is noted by the press that it is from England! So if we want to say Scottish then let us do so with pride!
