it had a lot of publicity on Radio2 today too,one of the mum's was on encouraging local people to get out and support them.

    Well done Tony, pure 'GOLD'.
Ok, I'll get my coat for the last bit!
I saw what you did there , JD :D

Seriously, just watched the coverage - heartened to see so much public support. A big up to the good folk of Norwich.

Well done lads, welcome home. Hope you don't pay for a drink tonight and there are a few sore heads in the morning!

Just caught the footage on News 24, looks like a pretty good turnout. Well done, Vikings and thank you, Norwich.

What a great parade and thousands turned out to support them. Lots of press too which is good. Good on you folks in Norwich and hope the same happens tomorrow in Bury St Edmunds.

Saw the coverage on Sky - excellent. As one who hated parades I think that the reaction of the crowds in Norwich would make up for any fcuk around factor. Hopefully the troops will feel that it is not just those who post on this site (or similar ones) that appreciate their efforts and sacrifice.

Well Done and Thank you to the Royal Anglians and Norwich.

    Re: Royal Anglian homecoming parade

    Hello -

My name's Matt and I'm a journalist for BBC Look East (regional tv news) based in Norwich.

We've been tipped off by an anonymous source that the Royal Anglians were charged the full commercial rate for holding their post-parade service at Norwich Cathedral - a not inconsiderable sum, we're told. We understand that this may have caused some disquiet, given that discounts are being offered to members of this regiment by many other organisations.

Is anyone connected with the Vikings in a position to help us stand this one up ? Any truth in this ?

All replies will be treated in the strictest confidence - matt.precey@bbc.co.uk

    Cheers

    Matt
