'Friendly fire' kills UK soldiers
Three British soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan by suspected friendly fire, the Ministry of Defence has said.
The MoD said the soldiers, from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, were killed on Thursday at approximately 1830 local time.
Two other soldiers were also injured in the incident, when their patrol was attacked by Taleban insurgents in the Helmand province.
Next of kin have been informed. "

Come my boys, my brave boys, let us pray heartily and fight heartily. I will run the same hazards and fortunes with you. Remember the cause is for God, and for the defence of yourselves, your wives, your children. Come, my honest brave boys, pray heartily and fight heartily, and God will bless us.

Re: Blue on Blue in AFG
London (Reuters) - Three British soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan in a suspected "friendly fire" incident, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday. Two other soldiers were injured.
"Their patrol was attacked by Taliban insurgents and during the intense engagement that ensued, close air support was called in from two U.S. F15 aircraft to repel the enemy. A single bomb was dropped and it is believed the explosion killed all three soldiers who were declared dead at the scene," the ministry said in a statement.
