I'd put a poll up on the topic, but now i'm scared and am going to ask my mummy if I can play outside instead.

If I don't have DII and therefore can't read it, does it still apply?

Sadly not in MB so not sure which lunatic came up with this idea. Based on some other things I've seen though, I'm 99.9% certain its emerged from a military officer - don't try and blame this shite on the CS!
Has anyone thought about ringing Defence Press Office to ask them? Defence policy press officer number is 020 721 87909 (from MOD website).Author of the 'Thin Pinstriped Line' - a blog trying to provide a professional assessment of Defence issues beyond the lurid tabloid headlines.

Pitty sanity didn't prevail when the DIN was being drafted!

This is no different to the previous situation where we not supposed to handle media outside of DNews remit.
Weren't the rules on FOI tightened recently in the name of security? I remember the FOI no longer applys to queries reference MP's, I remember something about the MOD too, perhaps I'm wrong but wouldnt be surprised!I think a quick FOI enquiry to MOD asking whether serving personnel are allowed to use ARRSE will quickly sort this one out.

Has anyone got this DIN in full? Only I can't access it until I get on to DII , and then I can't get onto Arrse , as then I would be under Military law.
You see my quandry?
Who the bloody hell writes these things? No, I don't think it was an SO1 , this has political apparatchik written all over it.He had bought a large map representing the sea,

If every one gets extras then it has no effect. If the troops get sect 69 ask for CM and or employ a civie solicitor to represent you. See how long it will last when the paper chain starts to expand and becomes the news storie.

Going only a little off topic..
Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence
Third Report
15 ROLE OF THE MEDIA
http://www.publications.parliament.u...7/5719.htm#a94
15 ROLE OF THE MEDIA
"The Director General Corporate Communications, Mr Tony Pawson, told us that the main aims of the media strategy were to be as open as possible and to meet the practical needs of the media in terms of substance and timeliness."
The article on the link is well worth while, though it did give me more than a shudder that the aim is to control the media rather than inform.
The daily "cross whitehall media briefings" bit also has a hint of the sinister and spin about it.______________________________________

LOL Well seems that I'm on the other side of the fence, I've got it on my screen and if I post it here then I'll be breaking some other rule.
