Perhaps she should check out this thread.
B-TThere are only 10 types of people in the world; those that understand binary and those that don't.

Re: Don't be afraid to serve as Muslims
The Mirror what a friendly news paper. How it loves to report on all the negative points about the armed forces. Remmber the fake photo of a squaddie pissing on an Iraqi? The riot where a few rag heads got a shoeing for being naughty boys? I do. Kate my love your paper gets used for one thing and one thing only. WIPING MY ARRRSE ON. Get a proper job at the Daily Mail or somethging like that and then we might consider entertaining you. PS Enjoy your lefty socialite weekend with tree huggers and clam jousters and when your sipping your pink champers think of the lads stagging on in Iraq and the Nam who are affraid to fart incase it ends up in your paper. I think that sums it up rather nicely, well said. The mirror will never be forgiven for the fake pics.

Re: Don't be afraid to serve as Muslims
Kate,
Can you please do us all a favour have a word with your editor and and other journo scum from the red-tops and stop calling us your boys. We aren't in the pocket of Murdoch yet and the last time I looked we were Lizzie's boys (HRH to you) you only "support our boys" when it suits your need to shift a sh1te paper

Kate,
No serving soldier should conduct interviews with the press unless sanctioned by his Chain of Command. If you'd like access to serving personnel as a journalist, please contact Land or Army Media.

Re: Don't be afraid to serve as Muslims
This is one instance Kate, where MoD may well welcome an upbeat piece about Muslims in the Armed Forces, as long as the story is told as to their convictions they are doing the right thing, and how their presence in the Armed Forces is a 'Force Multiplier' in distant lands.
But would they trust the Sunday Mirror to put together such a thought-provoking piece is another matter. He had bought a large map representing the sea,
Without the least vestige of land:
And the crew were much pleased when they found it to be
A map they could all understand.

Re: Don't be afraid to serve as Muslims
Kate, I can help you out on this one, I'm no longer serving, so don't fall under regs.
I will be more than happy to provide you with what you need. I've got a wapping piece that I would be happy to press into your article (it actually provides a good report). Tell me though, will I have to navigate my piece through your publications before it gets inked or do you have blank broadsheets?
Edited to add the main point:
British soldiers, as proven over the last couple of days are not on their own. They have an extremely large family that will go out of its way to protect them. As proven by the large numbers of troops from different ethnic backgrounds and cultures, ours is not a 'whites only' force. We even have other nationalities from a number of countries serving alongside us.
If a Muslim is thinking of signing up, they should as they will get the same training and support as any other soldier. This is about serving as a soldier in HM forces to protect British interests here and abroad, and also defending the realm. If Muslims feel patriotic, then the army is a good place.
No Muslim should feel fear about the idea of joining up. There will always be one threat or another to our forces and we are all taught persec. Good drills, with the support of the services should help ensure safety.

Re: Don't be afraid to serve as Muslims
A coincidence that there's "Kate" on this thread asking bone questions and "Kat" on the "dissertation" thread asking bone questions? Pass me my tinfoil hat, someone...
