Soldier was to be beheaded!
Sky News just breaking a further part on the arrests this morning of eight men in Birmingham, their plan, alledgedly was to kidnap a Muslim British Soldier and film him being tortured and beheaded. Scary shit.

My heart goes out to the that poor kid and his family - imagine joining the Army to earn a crust and the next thing you know you're on a list to be beheaded simply for doing your job.
What the hell is going on in the world???

Ordinairily TO , I might agree with you.
Though ALLEGEDLY, this plot involved the kidnap and execution of a British Soldier for a political statement.
A lesser objective, may well have been to discourage other Muslims from either joining, or continue serving in the Armed Forces, and subvert their support.
That's terrorism.
