So they should have accepted the child knowing that they didn't have the capacity to treat her? I can just imagine the outrage bus.

Stafford Hospital again.
What a suprise.
When I go mountain biking at cannock chase the guys I ride with have instructions to either take me them self to North Staffs hospital or make sure a helicopter takes me there if I am down and not responding.
Under no circumstances are they to take me to Stafford Hospital, the last poor ****er they treated died from a ruptured spleen at home.

Why the **** is this thread titled "Baby dies because hospital refused admission"? A PM has failed to establish the cause if death.

They do have the capacity.
The A&E has been closed at night because all the staff with any brains left following the inquest and they were not delivering a trust worthy service with the staff they had left. They had a hissy fit when this was pointed out to them and are now engaging in work to rule tactics which have resulted in the death of a child.
They are still refusing to co-operate with attempts to manage the hospital since the old management was booted out and it was placed under control of another health trust.

If the facts are as stated in the article then however shit it is they did the right thing. If A&E is closed due to staff shortages and the ward was full and already dealing with an emergency what should they have done?
Could the child have been admitted to another ward in the hospital until it had quietened down in pediatrics? Are you a cyclist, triathlete or just like wearing lyrca and annoying drivers? Then why not join the ARRSE Cyclist and Triathlete Group?

Going to a well thats dry won't get you a drink, you need to go to one that has water. The hospital couldn't take her.
