There's the problem mate, the lack of consistency in sentencing is nothing short of shocking.

Exactly what I thought as soon as I heard the news. No sympathy for the cupid stunt, but it does show the hypocrisy of our so-called justice system.

Deserved jail just for being a mong who didn't learn her lesson.

I don't think that anyone is disagreeing with her being locked up, just with the length of the sentence.

Which is likely a sentence handed down due to her previous.

Might be worth seeing if the other one who got gobby on the Tube (Emma West) also gets sent down - if found guilty - for an equally lengthy term I suppose.

Even given her previous, it's still excessive particularly when certain violent crimes are dealt with more leniently and even in cases of repeat offenders (including some who commit offences when they are on bail for similar conduct).

Appreciate that you have more experience, I think, in that line of work than me so am happy to take your word for it regarding the severity of the sentence.

Can't say that I'm overly vexed by it though. Dare say she'll think twice about gobbing off in future about strangers and their supposed lack of belonging in this country.

I'm with biscuits on this one, in that the sentence seems harsh as it didn't involve violence or dishonesty. Yes there is a huge spectrum of sentences which dont attract custodials but somehow do so. Read the Northern Echo and look at the number of "Spared jail" stories and its enough to really question if there are really any guidelines or if it has all been quientendd down to avoid the prisons overcrowding.

However, this daft tart was convicted before, which isnt going to help, and that she was remanded prior to trial. I wonder if she got nasty and put herself in a position where she could not be bailed. That takes some doing. Its certainly her fault if this is so. If she was remanded, then the sentence really needs to be longer than the time she was remanded for.

I suspect that she will be visiting Mr Ahmed's off licence just outside Holloway and making her abusive way home in a very few days.
