Should we scrap this law
The law governing 'Insulting Language' has been missused over the years since it went on the statute books and now even the law makers want it banned,,any thoughts?
Scrap Public Order Law Banning Insulting Language, Says David DavisWe're in greater danger today than we were the day after Dunkirk. Our military is absolutely incapable of defending this country. Thanks to Broon and Osborne .

Yes, Yes and again very Yes, a stupid law brought in by very stupid people.
Everyone deserves a second chance, except those who try to shaft me and fail.
We are the Pilgrims, Master, we shall go always a little further,
It may be beyond the Blue mountain barred with snow,
Across that Angry or Glittering Sea.

It was very strange listening to Mr Peter Tatchell on Radio 4 this morning as he explained why the law should be changed. He wasn't very convincing!

The UK "doshocracy", like any other undemocratic, oligarchic system, thinks that all it has to do is introduce a law banning this, that or the other and the problem's solved. A very good example being the gun ban introduced by the last useless gobment. The method's never worked in the history of mankind, so why they think it'll work for them is beyond me.

The purpose of this law was for it to be a "catch all" that could potentially cover absolutely anything a police officer might take a disliking to.
It's a remnant of the Thatcher era and unsurprisingly Blair didn't get rid of it."If a terrorist organisation wanted to knock out the moral compass of Britain, all they'd have to do is to kill 100 celebrities at random. The entire country would have an instant nervous breakdown."
