If Iran gets a good shoeing, all we're going to be doing is looking on enthusiastically as the Yanks apply the treatment.

You don't think the Iranians might decide to target the forces (eg the Mines Counter Measures force that would surely be involved in any action against Iranian mines)/shipping/etc of "The Little Satan"?

Well, we'd better hope some big butch USN Destroyer or Cruiser is about to hide behind of they do, as we rather inconveniently left off the anti surface capability from our sleek grey war canoes.

I was not just thinking of the surface threat.

The rest of it got left off too, unless they're using a hypersonic fast bowler in which case - Advantage us.
HMS Queen Elizabeth. Fitted for but not with airyplanes.

It seems the Americans and it partners have come up with a new way of rendering current stealth technology useless:

Nice jet though...still heaps better than the harrier.

Question to the techies, if said jet was engaged by something, and assuming it had its AA weapons inside those nice stealthy bays, could it drop the anti stealth pylons along with any external stores to try and recover some stealthy advantage whilst either running away from SAMs or engaging the Aerial threat?

I’ve heard that fact, that is you eat more than 6 bananas it will kill you.
I saw a bowl with 7 bananas in it, and i thought, that’s dangerous.

If it's any way similar to Tornado and possibly isn't, you can jettison Stores but not pylons. The stealth element is really only useful in the initial stages of a rumble, before the SAM radars are snuffed. It then becomes a bomb truck, but just how much external ordnance you could effectively uses with the STOVL model, I don't know.

And that one looks like a conventional A or C model
