Wasn't talking about the uda. Either way having some weapons training is a big step up from the way things are at the moment

There are people out there I wouldn't let loose with a brush shaft.

You forget the almighty Red Hand Commando, the UVF, UDA, UHF, VHF, WRVS, and the rest of the oh so brave Proddie Terrs of yore. Bravest men that ever held forth in a bar, even braver when butchering lone catholics whilst supported by at least 10 of them. The quickest turncoats once arrested (made the IRA look like amatuers in that respect), who were happy to hide behind the Security Forces if things looked a bit too one sided, oh and it should not be forgotten; who are the bigots that caused the trouble in the first place.
I am sure they all be willing to line up and be counted in the great battle to remain in a country that does not want the stupid arseholes. Be sad if in the process they lost the protection rackets they have set up so well for the last 40 years.

Recruiting to the armed forces of Loyalist NI might also take a bit of a dunt if someone points out that the dole South of the border is considerably more generous than it is in God's own country.
HMS Queen Elizabeth. Fitted for but not with airyplanes.

There is of course the distinct possibility that the Irish Defence Forces would knock seven bells out of any armed group intent on causing agro. It's also quite likely that HMG would provide the Irish authorities with names and intel in respect of any likely trouble makers in advance of any change in power.

It's called sarcasm, a little attempt at humour since loyalist paramilitary's as has already been pointed are not known for thier military skills, so even a cadet standard weapons handling would be a big step up for them

im gettin quite pissed with all this slagging, the uda/uvf are dickheads but what about us decent ulster folk?

Will you good Ulster folk be any worse of in a united Ireland? The bigotry and prejudice is very similar to the reaction before ANC gained power in SA in 1994, the world has not ended, there has been some trouble but the vast majority of the previously advantaged live pretty much as they did prior to 1994, odd thing is that the vast majority of the previously disadvantaged also live pretty much as they did prior to 1994
