As diplomacy is in effect a tit for tat type of thing , the UK needs to replace the current ambassador with someone more suitable to mirror Ms Castro's appointment .

    My shortlist is :
    Nick Griffin
    Al Murray

Anyone on ARRSE with more than 5 posts about the Falklands
A recent arrival to Britain who speaks no English and has no idea what or where the Falklands are

Yes. I am saddened at the thought of the loss of so many brave men in the cold waters of the South Atlantic.

They died not for freedom nor for justice nor any just cause. They died because of the political stupidity of the Argentine government and their leader.

It was war. They paid the price of the stupidity of their masters and had nothing to show for it.

Possibly in one of those imposing as hell offices that dot the FCO main building. William is seated behind a billiard table size desk. Without looking up from his work he says "Please take a seat Ms. Castro". He is sitting in the only seat in the entire office. Wouldn't be the first time.

My feelings about Argentina and the Falklands aside (pretty well noted above) I would say its Handbag Lady 1 - William Hague 0. Does he not have people? "Sir, you see that dusky bird in blue in the front row? I should spar wide if I were you".

How did her two escorts not notice that she'd sunk?

HMS Conqueror hid underneath the Belgrano, once the ship was hit her escorts fled to the safety of home waters.....

Isn't it a bit dangerous to hide under a sinking ship ?

I also read somewhere that the Conqueror captain put out a message in clear saying that they would not interfere with a rescue operation but that Hercules and Santissima Trinidad still legged it as fast as they could. Would he have done that ?

Had a quick look at the Argie press , some are still trying to call it a war crime despite even captain saying it wasn't .

I believe that 'bravely****ed off to leave the survivors to fend for themselves' is the correct terminology.
