Nazi salute? White power maybe but not NSDAP official greeting I think.

Looks like a 'Black Power' salute to me.

His willingness to commit acts of extreme violence during his crusade against his enemies; these are twisted aspects, taken to the ultimate extreme, of the people who go out and "fight crime" in homemade costumes.

Only going on what I have read but AFAIK black power is straight up and white power is straight out - the arm I mean.

Also used by the Jewish Defense League and many other nationalist groups. The Panthers borrowed that from the International Brigades, it's the anti-fascist salute. Brevik has repeatedly said he sees his struggle against the Norwegian establishment as being equivalent to the Norwegian resistance to the Nazis. It's a routine trope on the right these days these days.

He also claimed he was on a suicide mission and had calculated his odds of surviving were less than 5%. In reality, he had 'phoned the police and offered to surrender an hour before they finally managed to reach the island. If Breivik had wanted the death penalty, all he had to do was open fire on Delta; I doubt even they would have been able to miss him.

Of course, if he had been shot down like a mad dog, he wouldn't have been able to strut around giving a fucking Klingon salute and spouting bullshit about a Knights Templar conspiracy so far-fetched it would make Dan Brown blush. Someone else on this Thread nailed it when they said Breivik was a classic example of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. All he really cares about is being the center of attention, of feeling special and in control. He wants the fame and "glory" that he sees as his birthright. No matter what the cost.

I doubt Breivik really gives a damn about defending Norway from the Muslim hordes, anymore than he cares about his victims or their families. To Breivik, everyone else only exists to be used by him in whatever way he sees fit.

Ah, yes, moral standards. God forbid that any people should have that, and moral standards naturally not integral to democracy and humanism.

In one post, you're complaining over people appearing morally correct, while in the previous you write that 'supposedly left-wing parties are now adopting similar stances and policies they were screaming "racist" at only a decade or so ago.'

So what is the problem? That people see a problem, believe in one thing/solution, see that it doesn't work, and then change their opinion? All of it within a democratic framework, with checks and balances.

    Spot on.
In court, he's claimed that the ultimate proof he's not a narcissist is 'that a narcissist would not give up his life for anything'. Talk about logical gap.
