    Russia warns of "unpredictable consequences"

so it's a soundbite, but by some accounts the Russian bear is in the process of deploying his army on the Russia/Iran border in preparation for obviously soon-to-arrive attack.

more soundbites: "Iran is our neighbor," Rogozin said. "If Iran is involved in any military action, it's a direct threat to our security." Rogozin now is the deputy Russian prime minister and is regarded as anti-Western. He oversees Russia's defense sector.

    about time as well!

Reading the thread about Iran now stockpiling up their grub supply's and now Russians massing along the Iranian border could very well indicate that something is about to kick off, that said, I really cant see Israel doing a one man lightning blitzkrieg act and then simply expecting to get away with it Scott free without any repercussions.

Israel can not make any pre emptive strike without the blessing of it's allies for fear of global isolation.

Are we sure that it's not Russia that's going to do a quick land gab, and bank all the resources?

I mean, stranger things have happened, and quite frankly if they want Iran they can have it. Some good old fashioned USSR era diplomacy is needed here. Ah well, back to the real world....

If someone is thinking of attacking Iran, I hope we keep out of it. Come on Government give the poor Armed Forces a break, at least until the buggerence of the Olympics is over.

Don't pay attention to these empty statements. Corrupted Putin's regime has a lot of problems inside Russia. Recently moron Putin was 'elected' as a president but his power now is not so ablolute. In many places his rivals manage to win on local electios. For examly Putin's man was badly defeated on Yaroslavl (a big city not far from Moscow) mayor's elections. In Moscow Putins's United Russia party didn't take part in municipal elections (due to unpolularity) and members of Putin's gang took part in the elections as 'independent' candidates. Oleg Shein (a candidate on Astrakhan mayor election) in now on a hunger strike because of unspeakable violations of the law and after a formal and senseless comments of mr.Putin in the Parliament about this situation the fraction of Just Russia party left the Parliament.

Now Putin is rather seeking a support from the West (especially from Washington) and Iran is not so important for Kremlin. Anyway Putin will avoid any risky adventures because it could cause serious domestic problems.

As for mr.Rogozin then simply ignore this opportunist. His words don't cost a half penny.

To be precise, Putin isnt president yet...I know what your response will eb, is that it doesnt matter...
First they came for the Communists but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists but I was not one of them, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews but I was not Jewish so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.

Israel has proven time and time again that it really doesn't give a damn about outside opinion, and they know that the US would never dare go against it because neither the GOP or the Dems would risk alienating the rich Jewish voter block.
