Didn't 5th gear run an old Merc E-class on it and it went fine? I'd grab one of them if that's the case, nice car and cheaper (for now, until the bastards cotton on and tax the shite out it).

The downside of Vegetable oil and similar products being used as a fuel is that it pushes up the price for people who need the raw materials as food.

Used cooking oil, vegetable oil, w/e. is now a raw material?

The price of everything will get punted up anyway as fuel keeps going up. And I mean everything, not just crisps and cola. Try and think of something that isn't brought to the shops in the back of something running on diesel.

The thing to check is which fuel pump it has and I can't recall which one is ok.

Get an old Peugeot 405 they are unstoppable, I've had 2. Only scrapped the first after someone shunted the rear. the engines are bullet proof and great for alternative fuels. I've used cooking oil and biodiesel. Ive even run on filtered, used engine oil (on private farm land of course in case Mr Taxman is reading)

The 406 is pretty reliable old bus too from what i hear.
