Considering the Governments option to return Somalian families back will be fairly close to the next Election then 'radical proposals' may go either way.
To not turn it into political football if and when the issue arises is a dangerous move for Mr Cameron if he wishes to continue in office.
In summary: we're far from this situation anyway but don't count on a max egress when they know full well their better off here than back home.

I have serious misgivings about this.
Yes they are pirates and yes they are offering violence to ships so we should be shooting or hanging the buggers if they are caught at sea but raids on the places they operate from are going to be a major problem. There is no excuse for piracy but they are living in a failed state and using the money from piracy to keep the local economy going, piracy is feeding and clothing people in a place where that is not taken for granted. Any raid is possibly going to be a raid on a place where people live, women, childen, the elderly.
