The Mail is also being lampooned by numerous celebs with an axe to grind and does anyone think the Guardian's motives and behaviour with, for example, the wickileaks affair are any more honest and transparent than others.

No-one really believes the UK press are totally un-biased do they? I am just surprised that anyone thinks their conduct is going to be beyond reproach.

I don't buy the mirror either since that c*nt put soldiers lives in jeopardy, nor the mail because it’s full of rabble rousing sh*t

In fact I am running out of papers that I am able to buy, F*cking principles

Oh yep deffo as mad as a mad thing.
But lets be honest even the MP's think Morgans a twat so they will go after him.
If it's one thing MP's can't stand it's lying, well everyone but them lying especially if they are trying to hold an enquiery and justify their worth.
Pus there are alot of scores to settle from the MP's over the expences issue and the way the papers went after them

However on the person with an axe to grind league table Hugh Grant is taking the heat of everybody.

You don't think that all those people giving evidence might have ££££ signs in their eyes?
We should remember the tremendous contribution of the Queen Mother to the war effort:
As the BBC pointed out, she 'bravely remained in London beside her husband' during the war.
This contrasts sharply with the actions of my grandfather who, on the declaration of war immediately left his wife and children and pissed off, first to France, then North Africa, Italy, France (again) and finally Germany.
The shame will always be with us.

Are we in real danger of losing press freedom because some slimey journalists might have exposed a bit of claims fiddling and whoring?

    Sad day for democracy!

possibly. alternatively, a chance to fight back at the paparazzi cunts who have made their lives a misery with impunity for years?

    I wont shed a tear!

I'll quallify that, I hate the press especially the gutter variety and I have no love for Murdoch but less papers is only a short term problem, another will replace it soon enough but any papers still in print are relying upon a combination of resistance to modern news by stick in the mud types like me although I hate all press!

People have been pointing out for a while that there's no need for new laws and regulation, just for the existing laws to be enforced. The gutter press has enjoyed complete protection from both the police and politicians for decades: too afraid of negative publicity and particularly of the extraordinarily spiteful behaviour of the Murdoch press, snivelling PMs like Blair and snivelling Commissioners like, well, the other other Blair have grovelled at their feet.

Whislt I do have sympathy for the "ordinary" people who have been fucked over by the press
I've no sympathy with any celebrity complaining about the press.
Grant will still be making little British Films if the Sun hadn't printed that picture of Hurley hanging out of her dress when she was with him.

This gem of common sense could be applied to almost all UK legislation since about 1965!
