Yeah, ok. That was a bit ridiculous. Sorry.

If it's been sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk then I'm probably pissed.
We need people who look to the stars, holding the nation and the world in their hearts but at the same time we need down-to-earth people who can do serious and trying work.

In a definite sense, a country's power and prestige isn't only a reflection of its economic power but also a reflection of its people's quality and morality. Moreover, I think the latter is actually more important in the long-term.

The alleged crimes of the Sun jornos seem to be different from the Screws, back handers to coppers etc so not as much outrage so far.

True story, when the Sun printed all the Hillsborough stories and the scousers stopped buying it, suddenly the circulation of the now defunct "Today" also owned by Murdoch shot up in Liverpool, trebles all round at News Int as it was more expensive.

If they do this properly there will be hundreds of journos and coppers in the dock. Bribing coppers has been standard for Fleet Street for years. Used to know a journo who, when he took over the London crime beat, was introduced to all the coppers on retainer. Expensive lunches and pissups were standard, plenty of brown envelopes too. He always insisted that every paper, every one of the nationals and the Standard as well, were up to exactly the same thing. Juicy details of murders, inside stories on investigations were the norm.
