Fally,
Do you think that UK public opinion will care? How much media coverage is there now of Iraq? How many of the general public know, let alone discuss the final years in Basra? Cameron will be on an election winner of epic proportions when he brings the lads home and then gives them their P45s... "Hey everyone, I have reduced the budget deficit AND made our lads and lasses safe..." Talk about two birds with one stone. As History Man has opined, 60K troops might be nearer the mark at the end of all this especially if you took the hints from Gen. Sir P Wall this week saying that the peacetime Army may get smaller yet, he is just a servant of the politicians.
Brit Mil have got into too many fights at the same time and now lying on the floor people are making sure they don't walk again for a long time, but that is another Thread.
