We wouldn't be worrying about this if we had the might of six Harriers on a toy aircraft carrier as deterrent.

HMS Dauntless to set sail for the Falklands as tensions build with Argentina - East Hampshire - The News
Enjoy the Brig's backhander at Jackson at the end.
Re Gerry's #134 it is normal to land non-Brits in these circumstances - same happened at Suez, but not during Confrontation as Oz/NZ were in it too.Dr Johnson: 'Any man thinks less of himself for not having been a soldier, or not having been to sea.'
Thiomas Babington Macaulay, quoted by Admiral of the Fleet Lord Fisher of Kilverstone: 'Moderation in war is imbecility!'

ot be or not ot be? I will often skip nanotm's posts even though he has something valid to say for the same reason. For those that need help with spelling and use firefox do the following. Open tools menu > Options > Advanced (top right) > General (first tab) > tick box "check my spelling as I type" (under browsing). Now a wiggly red underline will appear under your nonsense when you type. Left click this and a list of correctly spelled words appear for you to chose from.
I'm sure other browsers have a similar function.

My son-in-law suffers from dyslexia and I know he would be staring at the wiggly red line for ages getting very frustrated trying to see what was wrong. He just got a big boost with one of them new-fangled moblyphone thingies (an eyeforaneye4 or something) where he can speak his texts.

when my wife enabled it on ff3.5 i uninstalled the browser and ive never looked back, if its something important she types it or writes it (since i write like a spider ran through na ink puddle) its best for everyone really since i learnt not to break everythign that drew red lines on my text...
just because i'm paranoid doesnt mean i'm wrong!
and yes i have dyslexia and i fail a lot at using grammer, by all means feel free to point this out i wont care and it wont change anything (and if i dont respond its cos you have added nothing ot the value of hte discussion by doing so)

What does MR Jackson mean by saying we could not re-take the Falklands. Inform him that I am ready to move at 24 hours notice on a RETURN trip to the land of penguins, if needed. I am sure its changed since my last visit in '83 and although a tad long in the tooth for 1 to 1 skirmishing, happy to make up the numbers. Well versed in the use of C4 / C4I / London Pride / 321s

If it's a result of dyslexia I apologise: on the iPhone app the signature blocks aren't shown.
If it's dailysex, however, I have no fucking sympathy. The sand of the desert is sodden red-
Red with the wreck of the square that broke
The gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed its banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of a schoolboy rallies the ranks-
"Play up! Play up! And play the game!"

Would it be terribly cynical of me to think that the current round of "The Falklands are really, really tense right now!" type headlines might have something to do with Flt. Lt. Wales impending stint in the area?
HMS Queen Elizabeth. Fitted for but not with airyplanes.
