I find little use for these petty jibes. It would follow suit that British Embassies would not promote a Scottish drink without being paid to do so, it doesn't need to be said.
However this has come from the Daily Mail so the truth is more likely that they asked if Scotch would still be promoted and then turned it into a William Hague threat to the Scots.
Rather than these petty snipes it would be far better that each side laid out their vision and also their perceptions of the reality of each possible outcome.'The honesty and bravery of our fighting forces stands in stark contrast to the weasel words and dishonesty of their political masters'. "You've really worked out your banter haven't you?"
"No, not really. This is a different thing; it's spontaneous and it's called 'wit'"

So as pr usual with the Wail, a non-story. Apart from:
Rather supports earlier threads that the English want rid of the Scots than vice versa. An ICM survey for the Sunday Telegraph found that 43 per cent of voters in England want Scotland to become independent, with only 32 per cent wanting the Scots to remain in the UK.
By comparison, 40 per cent of Scots supported independence while 43 per cent want to retain the Union. A Survation poll for The Mail on Sunday put support for independence at 26 per cent in Scotland, against 29 per cent in England.
(FWIW, I think Scottish independence is not good for Scotland or the rest of the UK, but I do get tired of the bleating Braveheart knobbers who blame everything on anyone but themselves.)Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
