Strange, when I last put in an official travel claim via JPA for a couple of hunderd quid (2008ish), I was warned that I had to retain all the reciepts for up to 5 years just in case the Inland Revenue needed to check them.

But I forgot - I am amongst the little people who can't be trusted not to fiddle our taxes.

I am intrigued, how do you manage to claim 6 figure expenses with no receipts?

Not that I'm doubting your word, but that is a sizeable sum to be claiming with no written record, unless you work for Olympus I suppose. Or that colossus of probity, Brussels.

No mystery, there are standard tables accountants use for travel and expenses at given grades to capital cities, also business credit card statements, so not completely receipt free.

So if the table says, for instance, 1500 Euros and you pay only 1000 Euros you pocket the 500 Euros?
