Requests for 'volenteers' has already been sent out a few weeks ago with the lovely line of 'You will be mobilised for up to a 4 month period'.
So that would include training to stag on, stagging on and then a post Op leave??? Ha!!!!!!
So far I know only 1 person who has said they want to....."Be an example to your men, in your duty and in private life. Never spare yourself, and let the troops see that you don't in your endurance of fatigue and privation. Always be tactful and well-mannered and teach your subordinates to do the same. Avoid excessive sharpness or harshness of voice, which usually indicates the man who has shortcomings of his own to hide."

Fook me the army has a union, or at least that is what I am reading, what are you going to do, refuse to soldier? Stop whinging, you never know you might enjoy it. And do try to remember that when you signed up you agreed to do what the Government of the day told you to do.
As for Medal I believe that was done on on page one. by the noble plume himself.Dry books of tactics are beneath the notice of a man of genius, and it is a known fact that every British officer is inspired with a perfect knowledge of his duty, the moment he gets his commission; and if it were not, it would be sufficiently acquired in conversaziones at the main-guard or the grand sutler's.

Hold on a minute...
This whole operation will require a name of some sorts - like Op Fresco etc.
I propose Op RingStretch.

Yes that was exactly the TA that I was talking about. Lots of TA red tabs tooling around a few months back with big smiles on their faces at the prospect of being used in formed units/sub-units, so your "we are not capable of doing this" back pedalling doesn't seem a glowing endorsement of the capability. And what's all this "peace time jolly" sh*t? Same TA red tabs are very keen to push the merits of the TA for Homeland Resilience - but it seems that you just want to pick an choose which crisis you want to be mobilised for?
The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.

Until there is any job protection for TA then, yeah, fucking right.

Thread Summary :- "Shit job. Give it to the TA"
Bollocks. Let the regulars, who signed up to do as they were told in peacetime and that seem to think TA soldiers have nowt better to do, do it. Or better still get the head of the Armed Forces to grow some balls and tell Cameron to hire some more Nigerian immigrant security guards and stop fucking people about and treating them like contingent labour.
if I were still a STAB I'd have handed my kit in if mobilised for this shite.Last edited by Roger_The_Cat; 15-12-2011 at 22:37.
