That's more to do with the voting system then anything else. Conservatives only got 36% of the vote nationwide, and are massively overrepresented for England, let alone everyone else.

So that perhaps shows the difference between the faults of the Westminister voting system and the far more successful glorious Scottish system which allows for more thieving Tory bastard MSPs.

Interesting statistic number 94. Scotland has more Pandas that Tory MPs!

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up,

As true today as in 1320.

But when combined with the Lib Dem vote (18.9% it is a coalition afterall) gives them 35.6% of the vote, 15.7% more than the SNP (19.9%), but 6.4% less than Labour (42.0%)

As a percentage it was fractionally more than that Labour achieved nationwide in the 2005 General Election(35.2%) giving them 355 seats, though saying that it was still a higher percentage than the Tories (32.4%, 198 seats) and the Libs (22%, 62 seats).
