I don't see the problem. Theresa May and Call-Me-Dave have been good enough to sacrifice half their holidays to sort the problem. Cobra is meeting this morning and I have no doubt we shall have a solution by lunch time. It will involve Big Society and Communities and Inclusionism. I for one can barely contain my excitement.

Being from Ulster, I'd be wandering round tut tutting at the sheer amateurism of the natives in and out of uniform. Why it's all so namby pamby and scattered, it looks almost French. Need to import some South Koreans to stiffen things up.

Got a question for you, purely hypothetical. I know a couple of Met officers who are currently undergoing PDT for Herrick, about half way through i believe.
Is the mechanism there, if it was deemed necessary, for the Met to cancel their mobilisation leave and for them to return to London? What would the army say?

Another query!
Lots of people seem to be all for calling the army in - when did a unit do riot training as part of its day to day skills? I know a TA unit bound for Tosca touched on it, and it was part of the training package for TA back in 2005-2007. But as the military focus has been on warfighting in Afg, would the army need a period of build up trainign before it could deploy?
