Well done that mutt!
Can't see this done elsewhere so well done that mutt!
"Dickin Medal awarded to bomb sniffing search dog Treo"
It's been in the news for a while, but today's the day the Treo gets his gong! Seeing as his actions (nose?) saved lives in AFG, I think he deserves a mention on Arrse for the membership's appreciation.
Bit more on it here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8502127.stm
Once again, well done that mutt!

Agreeing with STP - good work, tail-wagging, IED-detecting, crotch-sniffing hound!

Well done that dog -
though I suppose his sniffing habit helped to get him "retired".No sooner did we form into teams than we were re-organised.
I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet every situation by re-organising and what a wonderful method it is for giving the illusion of progress whilst only producing confusion, inefficiency & demoralisation.

Re: Well done that mutt!
TBH, I think Treo would enjoy an afternoon in the company of some in-heat bitches instead of the gong as an alternative thank-you.
I don't really get the Dickin's award at all. Is it perhaps a proxy to the animal handlers? Thanks to all who read my little contributions and don't shout nasty words at me, it means so much and I like the likes. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for their tremendous support throughout my career and without whom I would not be standing here today. Also my agent, she's been my rock.
Do be careful though as Hector and his clique may descend upon you with their stock in trade proclamations of your inherent inferiority. And as it's the internet, they get off on it.
