Re: Three US hikers still held - set to be tried
Iran is a stunningly beautiful country and the people of Iran are (for the most part) polite, cultured and very hospitable. Unfortunately the country is run by a bunch of religious maniacs who control the police, military and the media. For all that Iran is the fourth largest oil producing country, its infrastructure, medical services and welfare structure are an absolute fiasco.

CIA? Could have been worse, they could have been sponsored by Gideon International. That would have really pissed some mullahs off.

03-08-2011, 12:57 #17Three things generally happen when you meet someone unlike yourself:
1. We try to clone them and make them like us.
2. We reject them and push them away.
3. We find common ground and a place of agreement.
Yet in all three we assert one fundamental concept, that we are right.
What if when we encounter someone unlike us we seek to see ourselves through their eyes and become open to the possibility that we are wrong?
