Western - not sure whether I make your outrage bus on this occassion, :D but commented on my own experience of comms. Did a B3 way back when all the Clansman kit worked. Thinking it out, given the nature of TELIC, it was always going to be a "rich and varied" comms environment, with both technical and logistical challenges. So, the comms critical comments are probably easily made and fairly inevitable here.
On the comments made in the article that you highlighted relating to attrocities happening due to what was going through peoples' heads, it will be interesting to see where a discussion of this would go.
In one of the previous incidents involving front page headlines and British Soldiers having abuse allegations made, it was interesting to note the total absence in reporting of the context and previous day's incidents, etc. Now on one hand, I don't condone BRITFOR doing the boil-in-the-bag and water-boarding thing. On the other hand, poor background reporting does not help either way.

Don’t be so f*cking condescending
The title of the thread is “Pathetic radio failings put Troops at risk” not “British Troops guilty of atrocities”
I made a point from my experiences (which is a little bit more than B3) as to why Clansman may have failed, others have discussed their comms experiences.

"The main thrust of the article is that poor comms and constant contacts may have put the troops in a mental state where they could have committed the atrocities that they are accused of."
Then you start whining when people respond to it. It's your summary, written by you in response to Hackle. Why are you getting so upset when people hold you to your own statement?

I'm not in the least bit upset, that's why both of us have been using smilies. It's not a summary it's a paraphrase of the actual words in the article which I have already quoted.
